I lost a treasured friend today;
The little dog who used to lay
Her gentle head upon my knee
And share her silent thoughts with me.

She’ll come no longer to my call,
Retrieve no more her favourite ball.
A force far greater than my own
Has gathered her up to take her home.

And though my eyes are filled with tears,
I’m grateful for the happy years
That she spent right here with me,
And for her love and her loyalty.

A tribute to the fine Paws Squad dogs who are no longer with us.

Matriarch of the pack, she was tough as nails to the bitter end.  We miss her deeply.
